The Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation (PCVF) has dedicated itself to honor and support all local personnel who are currently on active duty or have honorably served in the United States military. To commemorate and honor all veterans, the PCVF maintains an extensive Museum Collection of artifacts, artwork, memorabilia, and personal histories.
The PCVF Museum Internship offers students (undergraduate or graduate) the opportunity to work with this unique historical collection while making a valuable contribution to the Santa Barbara community.
Museum Interns will play in important role in the ongoing inventory of the PCVF Museum Collection. Interns will assist with the cataloging and labeling of collection items, conduct historical research on significant items, and may also assist with designing temporary exhibitions or planning special events.
The Internship requires travel to the main Museum Collection in Montecito and possibly to other temporary museum loan sites in Santa Barbara. Interns are normally expected to work for a period of one academic quarter, and may be renewed for successive quarters. UCSB undergraduates may be a paid intern or may receive independent study credit through the History Department for participating in the internship.
